HDI Global SE, part of the Talanx Group, has appointed Bob van Alphen to lead one of its two regionally structured Engineering Underwriting teams.
He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Hannover and will report to François Périquet, Global Head of Engineering.
In his new role, van Alphen will manage a team of six professionals focused on expanding HDI Global’s engineering underwriting activities. He takes over from Ralph Kehrbaum, who will remain with the team and ensure continuity during the transition.
Van Alphen has worked in the insurance industry for more than ten years. He began his career in 2014 with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as an Underwriter for Energy and Construction, later holding international assignments. In 2022, he joined Everest Insurance, where he further developed expertise in global engineering and construction risks.
At HDI Global, he will be responsible for key markets including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, and South Africa. His remit includes supporting the continued rollout of the company’s engineering strategy and strengthening its service offering for corporate clients in these regions.
