Probitas Managing Agency has revealed that the AdA SPA 2024 will transition to full Syndicate status for the 2026 year of account, following ‘In Principle’ Lloyd’s approval.
The AdA Syndicate, which will remain under the management of Probitas Managing Agency, will continue to be led by Natasha Jodrell, Managing Director of AdA Underwriters, and James Grainger, CUO and Active Underwriter.
The AdA team will reportedly persist in developing a portfolio of marine & specialty business, building out from the existing portfolio that they have underwritten on behalf of Probitas 1492 Syndicate for the 2024 and 2025 years of account.
Jodrell commented, “We are delighted to start the next step on our journey trading as a full Syndicate; we have a strong team, both in underwriting and claims, with leadership capabilities which allow us to trade through this challenging environment and deliver a profit across the cycle.
“I would like to acknowledge the strong support of the Probitas team and our long-term partners, including capital providers, reinsurers and consortium partners, as well as Howden Re as our advisers throughout the process.”
Grainger added, “The team deserve much credit, having worked hard to achieve this next step towards an independent Lloyd’s business.”
Antony Dodson, Probitas CUO and Active Underwriter, said, “We are delighted that Natasha and the wider AdA team have reached this significant milestone.
“We will be working closely with them and Lloyd’s in the coming months as we progress through the ‘Making It Happen’ phase.”
