Descartes Underwriting, a specialist in corporate parametric re/insurance solutions for climate and emerging risks, has expanded Commercial Director Juan Maria Marqués Domenech’s responsibilities to cover Central Europe in addition to Iberia.
In a move to further strengthen the company’s presence across Europe, Descartes also appointed Felix Dalheimer as Business Developer for Germany and Austria.
Dalheimer brings a wealth of experience to Descartes, having served as an underwriter for German risks at Chubb.
His career also includes technical roles in catastrophe analysis at R+V Re in Wiesbaden, where he developed deep expertise in natural catastrophe risks and their financial consequences.
This combination of technical precision and market insight is to support Descartes to accelerate its growth and strengthen relationships with clients and brokers in the highly sophisticated German and Austrian insurance markets.
Dalheimer will report to Marqués Domenech, a senior leader within the EMEA organisation overseen by Blanca Berruguete, Head of EMEA Distribution & Client Management.
